Marin Čilić ((born September 28, 1988) is a professional tennis player from Croatia. His career high ATP ranking is no. 13, achieved on May 18, 2009. He is currently ranked 14th in the world and reached his grand slam best at the quarterfinals of the 2009 US Open in 2009, defeating favourite Andy Murray in straight sets before being eliminated by eventual champion Juan Martin del Potro. Through his young career, he has already defeated the likes of Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Nikolay Davydenko, Andy Roddick, Fernando Gonzalez and Fernando Verdasco.
